Shah blasts SP, BSP for destroying cooperative movement

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Saturday lashed out at the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) during an event here on Saturday.

“Capturing the cooperative societies could be part of the SP/BSP mindset, not of the BJP,” Shah said during a cooperative summit.

“The SP/BSP regimes had destroyed the administrative structure. We are now trying to resurrect the cooperative culture in the state. Over 22 crore people of the state are looking towards us with expectation. The state cooperative segment has huge possibilities and the BJP workers must work to achieve that,” Shah said.

The BJP President said the poor and farmers have played a key role in strengthening the cooperative movement, which aims to protect farmers from exploitation. “Sardar Patel had contributed towards encouraging this movement,” he said.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his achievements towards the welfare of people and farmers in particular, the BJP chief said today India is the fastest growing economy and has beaten China on this account. “Modi has laid the foundation for that change,” Shah asserted.
