Meat Ban on Tuesdays in Gurgaon

Respecting Hindu Sentiments meat shops in Gurgaon will be closed on Tuesdays. Ashwani Sharma, councilor of Ward 19 had brought up the proposal of closure of meat shops once in a week, post discussion the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh suggested said “Tuesdays most Hindus do not eat non-vegetarian, its best to close meat shops on Tuesdays. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted , “How can beliefs get hurt by what other people are doing in their private lives? By buying or selling meat, they ar not forcing you to partake. By this logic, close alcohol shops on Friday? Meat is food for millions of Indians.
Cannot treat it as something impure.” An increase in license fee for meat shops from Rs 5,000 to Rs10,000, and hike the penalty on unauthorised butchers from the
existing Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 were made.
