Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that merely launching of schemes and initiatives is not sufficient, rather how to make them effective should be the priority.
“Just launching of any scheme or initiative is not sufficient. What matters is how much will power is given to ensure that the schemes are operated properly, what makes the initiatives important and how it can be made effective,” Singh said while speaking at an event organised by his ministry along with the Women and Child Development Ministry.
Singh launched three women-centric initiatives – safety tool “Panic Button”, DNA analysis facilities and Safe City Implementation Monitoring (SCIM) along with Union WCD Minister Maneka Gandhi.
“Our ministry has always been committed towards women safety as it is a very sensitive issue. We have created women safety division in our ministry. Everyone should come together to ensure more safer environment to women,” Singh noted.
The Minister also added that for proper implementation of the schemes, stakeholders need to be given more training, sensitised on gender issues and allotted sufficient resources.
