Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu Friday alleged that evidence was wiped out in the murder of YSR Congress leader Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.
Condemning allegations by the opposition party that he is behind the murder, Naidu told a news conference on Friday night that the body of Vivekananda Reddy, which was lying in the bedroom, was shifted to the bathroom and all attempts were made to conceal the evidence by giving an impression that he died of cardiac arrest.
“If the murder has taken place in your house and all these attempts were made to clean the scene of crime, how can you blame us,” the Telugu Desam Party President asked YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy.
Vivekananda Reddy, a former state minister and a former MP, found murdered in his house in Pulivendula town of Kadapa district on Friday. He was younger brother of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and uncle of Jaganmohan Reddy.
Naidu said before the police rushed to the scene, the blood marks were washed off. He alleged that the family members initially tried to project it as a natural death and even tried to convince police that he died of cardiac arrest while the injury marks on the body were clearly indicating that it was a murder.
“When the body was shifted to hospital and autopsy was done, they started saying it was a murder,” said Naidu.
Stating that police were doing their investigations in an impartial manner, Naidu said truth would come out.
