Anand Swarup Shukla, Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs minister who had written to the Balia District Magistrate to ban loudspeakers used in mosques for azan has expressed his wish to free the Muslim woman from wearing a burqa.
He said “Burqa is an inhuman and evil custom” and people with progressive thinking do not practise it. He said many countries have done it and so should we.
Around 14 countries in the world Morocco, Republic of Congo, Denmark, Belgium, Latvia, Gabon, Tajikistan, Bulgaria, Netherland, Austria, France, Srilankahave banned full-face coverings. These countries have banned the use of facial masks, helmets, burqa, and hijabs as precautionary measures to avert terrorist attacks.
