MiG-21 crashes near Bikaner, Rajasthan, pilot safe

A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Bikaner in Rajasthan on Friday. The pilot ejected safely, the Defence Ministry said.

An IAF spokesperson said the MiG was on a routine mission and it crashed after getting airborne from Nal, near Bikaner.

Ghosh said initial inputs indicated a bird hit after take-off as the likely cause of the accident.

A Commission of Inquiry will investigate the cause of the accident.
