Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind is all set to modernize education in madrasas Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind led by Maulana Mahmood Madani is planning to introduce a new concept of education on more than 200 madrasa in Uttarpradesh and Maharashtra. Apart from providing regular classes to impart knowledge in Quran and hades, the madrasas will also give them education in science, maths computer studies, and other subjects taught in regular schools. A need to bridge this gorging gap between imparting religious knowledge and worldly knowledge was what compelled a few Muslim intellectuals who wanted the young minds of their community to learn Science, Mathematics, Computer and other subjects into they can simultaneously prepare for their 10th and 12th board examinations. Apart from passing on the heritage of Islamic knowledge through its primary sources, the Qur’an and the Sunnah to get degrees comprising of Moulvi (the equivalent of 10th ), Alim (the equivalent of intermediate), Fazil (equivalent to BA), and Kamil (equivalent to MA), this initiative to strengthen by educating Muslim community will increase their job prospects and overall quality of life.
