All hell broke loose after the country witnessed the peaceful farmers protest turn violent on January 26 2021, The Republic Day of India. Some so called farmers under the direction of Actor turned activist Deep Sindhu were seen hoisting a Sikh Flag from Redfort.
Sindhu along with his supporters Lakha sidhana, a gangster turned activist and 3 more formed a committee and were intending to join the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, which is a body of 40 famers union. Pictures of him standing next to BJP MP candidate Actor Sunny Deol and Prime minister Narendra Modi were seen, the farmers tried to keep him at bay.
Sindhu along with his supporters participated in the meeting held by farmers union in their tents, when Singhu went on centre stage to address the farmers., he said he did not believe in peaceful protests as protests lead to their own course and that the farmers should take the ring road to protest. The farmers protested and disagreed with his plan to change the route and shouted their solidarity with the peaceful protest tractor march planned by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha.
Sindhu apparently kept trying multiple times to get the farmers to take the ring road route which was not approved by the Kissan committee and the Delhi police agree to his plan which the farmers clearly disapproved of.
BKU president Balbir Singh Rajewal pointed out this fact in his speech at Singhu border January 27. “We had got five routes approved from the Delhi Police. It was decided that we would reach Singhu border at 8 am and begin tractor march by 10 am. But, the members of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee were made to move even before that.
He also said that when tractor march started, senior farmer union leader Darshan Pal called to inform that the farmers were being stopped from entering the planned route. “I came to know that the tractor’s procession was forcibly moved by Delhi Police to Ring Road. When I reached there, a large number of tractors were barricaded and many had reached Ring Road. Same situation was being witnessed by many protestors,”
While Sindhu managed to create chaos, he was last seen fleeing away with Lakhana on a bike and has been untraceable since.
